Its's a pretty fighting vision, one where every politican is completely bought and paid for by corporate interests. But its also frightening because it includes the end of any source of information
that challenges corporate.
that challenges corporate. After all why would corporations finance anything that speaks negativitely of their agenda to control our country and make as much money while doing so as possible?
In a corporate controlled world--as Keith sees it-- their wont be any desire for citizens to be "informed" in such a way that they might think anything needs to be done differnetly than is currently being done.
(By the way, unions have so little money--comparatively speaking-that Keith doesn't see them stopping this from happening.)
There are two scenarios I'm going to explore for what can be done.
Here they are:
SOLUTION ONE: The Classic Outlaw Bad Behavior Approach
Many efforts to express outrage about this development now exist. Atleast two approaches are now working on the most all- inclusive solution: Amending the Constitution of the United States. They are Move to Amend and Free Speech For People.
Move to Amend.org is a project of the Campaign to legalize democracy.
FreeSpeechForPeople.org is led by Prof Jamin Raskin, a constitutional law expert at American Univ. and a Maryland State senator.

ReplyDeleteone: it is very hard to understand the point you are trying to get across when you ignore simple grammar. It was like reading one big run-on sentence. Its kind of hard to have any credibility arguing policy when you write the way you did above.
ReplyDeletetwo: Prof John Raskin is a left wing idiot (im not saying all from the left are idiots.) He claims to be an expert on constitutional law,yet hates the constitution and wants to create his own. He says he wants "to give power back to the people," and is an anti-capitalist. He goes against all the principles and ideals that made this country the great nation it is today. He hates the US as a republic, yet serves in the Senate. He wants to get rid of the electoral college and make the US a democracy. Um.... helloo??? First of all, if we become a democracy, he's out of job, he is a senator for pete's sake!
He is a walking oxymoron... an idiot.
The principle behind a republic is that the citizens elect others to represent their ideas. A democracy, on the other hand, is basically "majority rules." If ivy-league politicians can't make educated decisions for our nation under our current government structure, then what makes you think the public has the ability and knowledge to make better decisions? You say corporations dictate policy now. Well, under a democracy the media will dictate policy because our nation is full of people who believe everything the media tells them. I rather have corporations influence policy than the media. Corporations understand economics and how to grow. If media controlled policy, we would have movie stars in office. To prove my point a look at California and their current governor, elected by Hollywood... the state of California just went bankrupt!
